On 21 October 2025, several of our Spanish CAPTUS partners took part in the CCS Connect event, organised by Centro Tecnológico CTC in Santander. The conference brought together industry experts, researchers, and technology leaders to explore innovative solutions for CO₂ capture, utilization, and decarbonization.

Our CAPTUS consortium was well represented throughout the event.

Guillermo Díaz Sainz from the University of Cantabria delivered an insightful lecture on “Decarbonization and Circular Economy in CO₂ Capture and Conversion.”

Esther Santos Santamaría from Apria chaired Presentation Block 1 on “CO₂ Capture Technologies for Industry.”

Beatriz Malagón Picón from Grupo Cementos Portland Valderrivas (Demonstration Site 3 in CAPTUS) presented “Emerging CO₂ Capture and Utilization Technologies: Insights and Experiences from Grupo Cementos Portland Valderrivas within the CAPTUS Project.”

Thanks to Centro Tecnológico CTC for hosting this inspiring event and promoting collaboration towards transforming CO₂ emissions into valuable resources – an essential step in driving Europe’s industrial decarbonization.
