The CAPTUS project was represented at the 3rd Iberoamerican Congress on Chemical Engineering (CIBIQ 2025), held alongside ECCE 15 & ECAB 8 in Lisbon from 8–10 September.

Two CAPTUS partners showcased the project’s research on carbon capture and utilisation (CCU):

1. Poster presentation
José Fernando Palomo from project coordinator CIRCE presented:
“Process modelling of CCU systems for the production of energy vectors in the chemical and steel sectors.”

2. Keynote talk
Guillermo Díaz Sainz from Universidad de Cantabria delivered a keynote titled:
“Unlocking Electrochemical Conversion Solutions for CO₂: Paving the Way for Sustainable Formic Acid Production in Cement.”

CIBIQ 2025 brought together the Ibero-American chemical engineering community to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and progress toward impactful, sustainable solutions.

The CAPTUS team was proud to contribute to this international forum, highlighting CCU as a pathway to decarbonising energy-intensive industries such as steel and cement.
